KleinReid has created an inspired line of contemporary porcelain objects for table and home.
The pottery is a eclectic mix of refined colours, confident forms, sublime glazes and rich textures.
KleinReid is a collaboration of artists James Klein and David Reid. Both were born in Akron, Ohio and met in high school.
After graduating with BFA degrees in ceramics, they entered different masters programs; Klein at the New York State
College of Ceramics at Alfred, and Reid at the Cranbrook Academy of Art.
They moved to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn in the summer of 1993, set up a studio, and began collaborating on a
unique vision for well-designed, reasonably priced hand crafted objects with a strong emphasis on form. They did
extensive clay and glaze testing, creating their own dense transluscent porcelain and rich, satin matte glazes.
